Visiting The Bookmill:
The Montague Mill is also home to Sawmill River Arts and the latest outpost of our favorite place for music and movies, Turn It Up!   You can dine at the extraordinary Night Kitchen and you can get food and drink all day and deep into the night at the astonishing Lady Killigrew Cafe.

How to Find Us - Wander up county roads and you will find the Bookmill... but the chances are infinitely better if you do not use your GPS or even accept directions from the usual online sources.  "They" don't know that there's a bridge out near here (a bridge that will never be repaired) and they send you by crazy routes anyway. See below for a more accurate local map.

From Northampton and points south
Rt. 91 north to exit 24. Right off the exit onto Rts. 5 & 10 north; right at the lights onto Rt. 116. In Sunderland Center go left at the lights onto Rt. 47, follow about seven miles. Go straight where Route 47 bears right. Go through Montague Center, bear left past the village green one quarter mile to small bridge. The Mill is on the left at 440 Greenfield Rd.

Scenic alternative - about a mile up Rt. 47 from Sunderland Center go left onto Falls Road. Follow this road (this is a nice biking road), which winds along the Connecticut River and through beautiful farm land, bearing right at the fork and crossing the bridge, to the end (just over 5 miles) and turn right. The Bookmill is on the right.

From Boston and points east
Rt. 2 west to Rt. 63 south. Go 5 miles (watch for where Rt. 63 turns to the left on the far side of Millers Falls) to Center Street, Montague. Turn right, go past the village green one quarter mile to small bridge. The Mill is on the left.

From Amherst
Rt. 63 north to Montague Center exit (junction with Rt 47), eight miles. Take a left and go to end of street (200 yards), and take a right. Go through Montague Center, bear left past the village green one quarter mile to small bridge. The Mill is on the left.

From Greenfield and points west
Rt. 2 east to Turners Falls. At the lights by the Turners Falls Bridge (Gas station across on your left) go right, cross bridge, then left at first stoplight (past the Town Offices and Police Station). Go up the hill and take the right fork onto Turners Falls Road. Follow this into Montague about 5 miles - the Bookmill will be on your right.
